PHES Parent Advisory Council (PAC)
Our Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is a formal group of parents who work collaboratively with school administrators and sometimes teachers to provide input on school policies, programs, and decisions that affect students and families. Here's how PACs typically function:
Purpose and Role: PACs serve as an official voice for parents in school governance, offering feedback and recommendations on issues like curriculum changes, school policies, budget priorities, and educational programs. They act as a communication bridge between the parent community and school leadership, ensuring parent perspectives are considered in important decisions.
Structure and Function: The PHES PAC meets quarterly with the principal. Unlike our PTO that focuses heavily on fundraising and events, our PAC is more advisory in nature, concentrating on educational policy and school improvement initiatives. Our PAC meets prior to the PTO meeting, which gives parents the opporunity to conveniently participate in both groups.
